Metro Philadelphia recently featured an excerpt from the Pediatric Emergency Care study which confirmed that Temporal Artery Thermometers are comparable in accuracy with rectal thermometers. Temporal Artery Thermometers were found to be more favorable for use than rectal thermometers because the TemporalScanners cut the risk of cross-contamination. Lisa Clarke, from Metro Philadelphia, reports that “The study shows that temporal artery thermometers have the potential to replace rectal thermometers in emergency room settings.”
