She writes a lot about the technology behind the Exergen TemporalScanner. She discusses how the thermometer works by capturing heat that is emitted from the forehead over the temporal artery. She also notes how it is able take 1,000 readings per second and pick the most accurate one to display. “I really loved how easy this was for me to take my own temperature.”
