WATERTOWN, Mass. – November 20, 2024 – Exergen Corporation, the leading manufacturer of infrared temperature measurement equipment for medical applications, is pleased to announce that its Turkish distributor, Mefamed, has signed an agreement with Turkey’s State Supply Office (DMO). This strategic partnership will allow public institutions across Turkey, including government-owned hospitals, medical services, the military, and other public sectors, to procure Exergen’s Temporal Artery Thermometers with ease and efficiency.
The DMO, renowned for its crucial role in central procurement for public organizations, facilitates the purchase of critical materials and devices for institutions, including health products, through its online E-Sales Portal. This eliminates the need for lengthy tender processes, allowing hospitals, clinics, and other institutions to obtain essential medical equipment quickly and securely. The inclusion of Exergen’s products in DMO’s General Catalog ensures that Turkish public institutions can now procure this innovative healthcare technology at competitive prices, protecting against inflation and exchange rate fluctuations.
Dr. Francesco Pompei, Founder and CEO of Exergen Corporation, expressed his enthusiasm for the newly formed partnership: “We are absolutely delighted to support Turkish public institutions in their efforts to deliver excellent and high-quality healthcare services. This important agreement with DMO represents a significant step forward in ensuring that our Temporal Artery Thermometers are easily and widely accessible to hospitals, military services, and other vital public institutions throughout Turkey. We are excited about the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing healthcare advancements in this important and rapidly evolving market, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this collaboration will have on patient care.”
“This agreement marks an important milestone in the expansion of our activities in Turkiy,” says Murat Bayram, Account Director of Exergen’s distributor in Turkey Mefamed. “We were focused to get the contract signed with DMO. It lets us support doctors and nurses in Turkey even better and make government-owned hospitals and clinics more efficient. This is a win-win situation for Turkish hospitals and clinics that value cutting-edge healthcare technology, and for Exergen that wants to help Turkish medical professionals improve their services.”
This collaboration comes as Exergen continues its global expansion efforts, recently opening a European office and warehouse in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Both are located in the historic Klok Building, a landmark in the history of Dutch technological innovation, further highlighting Exergen’s commitment to excellence and forward-thinking in healthcare technology.
“This agreement marks an important milestone in the expansion of our international activities,” says Ellen Minkels, Senior International (OEM/ODM Sales, Marketing & Business Development Director at Exergen Corporation. “It allows us to better support partners like Mefamed in a more efficient and cost effective manner, providing more to the point services.
